কোলকাতা থেকে চট্টগ্রামে কবি নজরুলের আগমন, পদচারণা, অবস্থানকালীন সময়ে লেখালেখি, ব্রিটিশ বিরোধী আন্দোলন, বিপ্লব, বিদ্রোহ-সংগ্রামের নায়কদের সাথে সম্পৃক্ত থাকার ইতিহাস প্রভৃতি বিষয় তুলে ধরে চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের উপাচার্য ড. শিরীণ আখতার বলেন, “কবি নজরুল চট্টগ্রামের সৌন্দর্যে অভিভূত হয়েছিলেন। চট্টগ্রাম ও চট্টগ্রামের মানুষকে ভালোবেসেছিলেন। এখানে থাকাকালীন সময়ে আমরা তাঁর কাছ থেকে সিন্ধু, বাতায়নপাশে গুবাক তরুর সারিসহ অনেকগুলো অনবদ্য রচনা পেয়েছি যা আজও আমাদের মুগ্ধ করে। নজরুল ছিলেন বাংলা সাহিত্যের বিস্ময়কর এক প্রতিভা। আমরা এখনও তাঁকে পূর্ণাঙ্গরূপে পাইনি। গবেষকদের নজরুল চর্চা আরও বাড়াতে হবে যাতে তাঁর অনাবিস্কৃত সাহিত্য উন্মোচিত করা যায়। নতুন প্রজন্মের কাছে তাঁর সাহিত্য তুলে ধরার মাধ্যমে তাঁকে স্মরণে রাখতে হবে।”
চট্টগ্রাম একাডেমির ফয়েজ-নুরনাহার মিলনায়তনে মাসব্যাপী অনলাইন বাংলা বইমেলার আজ রবিবার (১৩ ডিসেম্বর) তেরতম দিনে ‘চট্টগ্রামে নজরুল চর্চা’ শীর্ষক সেমিনারে তিনি এ কথা বলেন।
তিনি আরও বলেন, “কবি নজরুল ছিলেন তারুণ্যের প্রতীক। অসম্ভব আনন্দপ্রিয় মানুষ। তিনি তাঁর স্বভাববৈচিত্র দিয়ে চট্টগ্রামকে মোহিত করে রেখেছিলেন। তিনি প্রাণের সাথে প্রাণ মিলাবার চেষ্টা করেছেন। তাঁর মতো আমাদের সাহিত্যিকদেরও মানুষের সাথে অবিচ্ছেদ্য বন্ধন রচনা করতে হবে। কবি নজরুল আমাদের গর্ব। তিনি ছিলেন অসাম্প্রদায়িক কবি। তাঁর অসাম্প্রদায়িক চেতনা বিস্তারে আমাদের কাজ করতে হবে। তাঁর সৃষ্টিকর্ম ছড়িয়ে দিতে হবে।”

আজকের (১৪ ডিসেম্বর সোমবার) অনুষ্ঠান: অনলাইন বাংলা বইমেলার আজ চৌদ্দতম দিনে সন্ধ্যা ৬টায় অনুষ্ঠিত হবে ‘মুক্তিযুদ্ধের সাহিত্য ও শহিদ পরিবারের ত্যাগ’ শীর্ষক সেমিনার।
